Chandigarh is an Union Territory situated in the
northern part of India, at
the foothills of Shivalik hills.
On its north runs the Terekhol River, which
separates Goa from Maharashtra and on the south
lies North Canara district of Karnataka. On the
east lie the Western Ghats and in the west the
Arabian Sea. This

Union Government), has a Population of 900,635 as per
2001 census. Chandigarh is the Capital of
Chandigarh Union Territory, Haryana State and Punjab
State and district headquarters of Chandigarh
District.
